Almond Cookies & Anise Twists: First Maurice will teach the basics of these two delicious cookies, including working with almond paste, piping & forming the cookies, and toppings & filling. After that you’ll learn lots of tips & secrets, like tempering chocolate for dipping and flavored glazes that you can make. There’ll be plenty of cookies to take home & enjoy. Maurice has over 30 years of experience cooking and catering in South East Connecticut. From a young age, Maurice’s love of cooking has shaped his life, starting from his earliest jobs as a local chef through to his starting & running North End Restaurant in Groton. His love of baking and sweets are part of what brings him here tonight. He is well known amongst his friends, family & customers for his decadent and flavorful Holiday Cookies - he literally makes hundreds of pounds as gifts every year. He is excited at the chance to pass along some of his favorite cookie recipes to you.
